NASA's HALO, Habitation and Logistic Module, will be the first pressurized element to give life to the Gateway, the upcoming lunar station.

A cutting-edge and visionary project, HALO aims, among others, at creating a permanent link between the Earth and the Moon.

The past few years and months, Thales Alenia Space engineers and technicians worked with passion to forge the primary structure of HALO, manufacturing and validating the module for flight. Today, it is ready to undergo the initial stage of its assembly, integration, and testing campaign, moving soon from the production area to the clean rooms. The next step will be the delivery to the United States to proceed with the final operations before the launch.

Recently, NASA and Northrop Grumman, prime contractor of the program and long-lasting partner of Thales Alenia Space, celebrated in Turin, together with our leadership representatives, the incredible effort of our company’s workforce, boosting the enthusiasm across all our teams.

A very special guest, the astronaut’s Stanley G. Love, very familiar with our modules supplied to the International Space Station and undisputed contributor to the Gateway’s development, has joined the celebration, envisioning the progression of the Artemis missions.

The astronaut brought among us his unique vision of space and dedicated his time to the over two hundred employees, thanking each of them for their personal contribution to such a valuable element for the future of human spaceflight.
