Thales Alenia Space is at the Africa Aerospace & Defense 2016 (AAD2016) air show and exhibition in Pretoria, South Africa, the premier air, land and sea technologies showcase on the continent, from September 14 to 18, 2016. The space sector will of course be present, especially Thales Alenia Space, which is showcasing its latest technologies on the Thales stand.
AAD2016 provides a perfect opportunity to spotlight the company’s center of excellence in telecommunications systems for civil, military or dual applications. One of the company’s flagship products, the new Spacebus Neo line of telecommunications satellites, has won three contracts since last year.
Another flagship product is StratobusTM, a new multi-mission stratospheric airship that is the perfect complement to satellite systems. Representing a breakthrough in this field, without requiring the launcher needed by satellites, StratobusTM is designed to meet the emerging needs of today’s defense and security forces. For instance, it offers an excellent solution for the permanent surveillance of a predefined regional coverage zone.
