contracts for 10 SATELLITES won this year by the company

10, that's how many contracts Thales Alenia Space signed in 2014! The French-Italian joint venture won four out of five telecom program contracts in the first half of the year: Yamal-601, on behalf of Russian operator Gazprom Space Systems, Koreasat 5A and Koreasat 7 for KTSAT of South Korea, Inmarsat-S/HellaSat 3, the "condosat", for Inmarsat and HellaSat, and Telkom 3S for the Indonesian operator Telkom. These successes reflect the initial results of the company's competitiveness improvement plan and product policy strategy. Furthermore, the European Space Agency awarded Thales Alenia Space the phase B contract for the Neosat program, involving the development of new platforms for geostationary satellites. Regarding observation, Thales Alenia Space won a new financing tranche from the Italian space agency ASI for the new-generation Cosmo-SkyMed program, comprising two radar Earth observation satellites. Most recently, the United Arab Emirates' Falcon-Eye contract, concerning two high-resolution optical observation satellites, has just taken effect. Thales Alenia Space is co-prime with Airbus Defence & Space.

    10 successful launches

10 is also the number of successful launches for our company in 2014, carrying 15 satellites or cargo modules (for the International Space Station). The last launch of the year, slated for December 18, will be for the third batch of four satellites in the O3b medium Earth orbit constellation.

10 SATELLITES IN CANNES' CLEAN ROOMS

10 is as well the number of satellites manufactured by Thales Alenia Space as prime contractor, available in Cannes facility: Iridium NEXT, ExoMars, Turmenistan NSSC, SGDC, Eutelsat 8WB, Gokturk, Sentinel-3A, Sentinel-3B, Jason-3 and MSG-4 (Meteosat Second Generation, fourth satellite).
