d’assister à un lancement, vous avez pu vous rendre compte du bruit retentissant généré par la fusée, et ce, même si vous étiez situé(e) à des kilomètres du pas de tir. Imaginez une seule seconde le traumatisme sonore que doit endurer un satellite logé à l’intérieur de la coiffe du lanceur, depuis le décollage de la fusée jusqu’à la phase de séparation lanceur. Voilà pourquoi, afin de résister aux contraintes sonores, vibratoires et aux écarts titanesques de températures subies par un satellite en orbite, mais surtout pendant la phase de lancement, il est crucial que ces engins fassent l’objet d’une batteries de tests en amont. C’est ce que nous faisons avec nos satellites, dans les salles blanches de Thales Alenia Space. Notre établissement romain a testé du matériel de vol en utilisant un nouveau système, DFAN (Direct Field Acoustic Noise), développé en coopération avec notre site industriel toulousain, et en partenariat avec Siemens et les experts du son DV2.\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp class=\"text-align-justify\" aria-hidden=\"true\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cdiv class=\"thales-brick-image\"\u003e\u003cimg src=\"https://tas-static.thalesaleniaspace.com/database/assets/images/2020-07/20180520_094421.jpg\" alt\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\n\u003cp class=\"text-align-justify\"\u003eLe système utilise une technologie à l’état de l’art afin de tester l’intégrité structurelle du satellite. Celle-ci est utilisée pour simuler l’environnement sonore, extrêmement bruyant, subi par le satellite ainsi que ses sous-systèmes pendant la phase de lancement.\u003cbr\u003e\nL'approche standard des tests acoustiques repose sur une très grande structure réverbérante (environ 1 000 mètres cubes) comprenant des parois très épaisses. Un champ de pression acoustique réverbérant est généré par des modulateurs reliés à différents cornets placés dans une chambre remplie d'azote à l’état gazeux. Les ondes sonores sont émises de part et d’autre du satellite, tout en couvrant l’intégralité du spectre des fréquences de lancement (20-10000Hz). Les caractéristiques du champ réverbérant obéissent à des normes internationales caractéristiques des essais acoustiques.\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cdiv class=\"thales-brick-image\"\u003e\u003cimg src=\"https://tas-static.thalesaleniaspace.com/database/assets/images/2020-07/NASA REVERBERANT CHAMBER_1.png\" alt\u003e\u003cdiv class=\"asset__image__description\"\u003eNAASA\u003c/div\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\n\u003cp class=\"text-align-justify\"\u003eLe dispositif DFAN adopte une approche différente, en faisant appel à une technologie disruptive inspirée des systèmes acoustiques sophistiqués utilisés par les groupes de musique à l’occasion de concerts dans de grands stades. Il comprend plusieurs ensembles de haut-parleurs autour du satellite, reliés à un amplificateur de grande puissance, afin de générer le champ acoustique requis. Une série de microphones disposés autour du satellite détecte la pression acoustique et l’on utilise un logiciel de contrôle sophistiqué pour effectuer les corrections nécessaires.\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cdiv class=\"thales-brick-image\"\u003e\u003cimg src=\"https://tas-static.thalesaleniaspace.com/database/assets/images/2020-07/_X8A0005.jpg\" alt\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\n\u003cp class=\"text-align-justify\"\u003e​\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp class=\"text-align-justify\"\u003eA ce jour, il n’existe pas de normes européennes pour ce type de tests acoustiques.\u003cbr\u003e\nLa nouvelle méthode donne des résultats comparables à ceux générés par la technique traditionnelle. Cela permet de surmonter certaines des contraintes associées ; pour Thales Alenia Space en Italie, les seules restrictions avérées étaient liées à la taille ainsi qu’à la complexité d'une installation réverbérante.\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp class=\"text-align-justify\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eUn système qui gagne en agilité et en efficacité\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\nLe dispositif DFAN est un système mobile, ce qui signifie qu'il peut être installé à l’intérieur de la salle blanche de notre centre de tests. Par son intermédiaire, nous sommes en mesure d’effectuer l’ensemble des essais acoustiques requis, ce qui nous donne la capacité nécessaire pour tous les tests mécaniques réalisés sur nos produits. Le résultat nous permet de bénéficier d’une réduction significative des coûts et des risques, puisque nous n'avons plus à transférer le satellite vers des centres de tests extérieurs.\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp class=\"text-align-justify\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDéveloppement de la technologie DFAN\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\nGrâce à l’étroite coopération entre les équipes de Thales Alenia Space, Siemens et DV2, le dispositif DFAN s’est fortement amélioré au cours de ces trois dernières années, notamment en termes de répétabilité des tests et d'homogénéité du champ acoustique.\u003cbr\u003e\nCette technologie a été qualifiée en 2018 au sein de l’établissement romain de Thales Alenia Space, après avoir mené une campagne de tests comparatifs, en utilisant une réplique de satellite préalablement soumise au champ acoustique réverbérant du site de Cannes, puis aux moyens de tests DFAN à Toulouse. Après avoir analysé une vaste quantité de données, l'équipe a pu démontrer que les résultats des différents modes de tests correspondaient parfaitement. Sur la base de cette analyse, les experts de l'ESA ont considéré que cette méthodologie était valable pour les tests sur des satellites. L'ESA a également accepté de soutenir nos efforts, considérant cette nouvelle approche comme une alternative à la méthode traditionnelle de la chambre réverbérante\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cblockquote\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"text-align-justify\"\u003e\"Au cours de la Conférence européenne de 2018 sur les structures, les matériaux et les essais environnementaux des engins spatiaux (ECSSMET), un atelier réunissant l'ESA, les agences spatiales et l’industrie européennes, lui-même consacré aux essais DFAN sur le matériel de vol spatial, a recommandé la constitution d'un comité pour l'élaboration d'un manuel DFAN de l'ESA sur ce matériel de vol. Cet atelier devra être approuvé par les principales agences spatiales européennes de même que l’industrie\u003cbr\u003e\nLes principaux objectifs du manuel DFAN de l'ESA sont les suivants :\u003cbr\u003e\n-\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Définir les exigences de base pour la préparation des tests préliminaires, la mise en place ainsi que l’exécution des tests et l'analyse de leurs résultats sur le matériel de vol ;\u003cbr\u003e\n-\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Fournir un outil général pour l'approbation des tests DFAN effectués sur le matériel de vol ;\u003cbr\u003e\n-\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;La valeur ajoutée du manuel résidera en sa capacité à valider la préparation et l'exécution des tests DFAN sur le « hardware »\u0026nbsp; comme s'ils étaient effectués de manière conventionnelle (chambre réverbérante). Ce département a deux objectifs principaux : revoir les méthodologies d'essais en introduisant de nouvelles technologies, et améliorer l'efficacité ainsi que la fiabilité des technologies existantes, en capitalisant en particulier sur l'énorme potentiel des jumeaux numériques.\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp class=\"text-align-justify\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eUne équipe de choc !\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\nLe dispositif DFAN est également un excellent exemple de coopération efficace au sein d'une équipe multidisciplinaire et transnationale. En mettant en commun des compétences complémentaires, cette équipe a permis à l'Europe d'occuper le premier rang dans le domaine des essais environnementaux effectués sur les
