industrial del lanzador VEGA, para las fases iniciales del diseño, desarrollo y calificación de un trasmisor TDRS (del inglés Tracking and Data Relay Satellite). Este desarrollo, en el marco del programa LEAP\u0026nbsp; de la ESA, tiene por objetivo mejorar el sistema de telemetría de VEGA tanto en términos de coste como de prestaciones.\u003cbr\u003e\nEl sistema actual de telemetría de VEGA se basa en el envío del flujo de datos directamente a las estaciones terrenas de telemetría, lo que requiere el uso de costosas estaciones terrenas móviles. Este sistema mejorará sensiblemente el contacto entre el lanzador y tierra, permitiendo la transmisión continua del flujo de datos de telemetría a lo largo de toda la trayectoria de lanzamiento, gracias a la cobertura del sistema TDRSS. El sistema TDRS de VEGA será compatible con la versión actual del lanzador y fácilmente adaptable a sus evoluciones, como la versión VEGA-C.\u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\nEl desarrollo del transmisor TDRS se beneficiará de la amplia experiencia de Thales Alenia Space en España en el desarrollo de sistemas de telemetría y telecomando para todo tipo de misiones espaciales en órbita baja terrestre (LEO), geoestacionaria (GEO), a la Luna y alrededor del punto L2 de Lagrange. En concreto, la compañía ha desarrollado transmisores y receptores compatibles con TDRSS para numerosas misiones LEO, incluyendo vehículos de reabastecimiento de la Estación Espacial Internacional como el ATV europeo, el HTV japonés y el Cygnus norteamericano.
